Four rulings

Every request gets one stamp.

Inside scope

Part of the job you already priced. Logged anyway, so the free hours are counted.

Change

New work. It gets a number (CO-01, CO-02…), an estimate and a price, then waits for a yes or a no.

Outside the job

Not something you do on this job at all. Logged so the answer you gave is on record.

Not sorted

Written down the day it was asked, decided later. The tally reminds you it is waiting.

The Sorter

Four questions. Five rules. One suggestion.

Not sure whether a request is inside the job? Answer four yes-or-no questions and the Sorter suggests a ruling, quoting the scope lines that share words with the request. You make the call; it shows its reason.

Try the Sorter, free
  1. R1 Written under “Not included”? Change.
  2. R2 Breaks an assumption the price was built on? Change.
  3. R3 Written under “Included”? Inside scope.
  4. R4 Not written down, and small? Inside, but logged.
  5. R5 Not written down, and bigger? Change: price it first.

Plain answers

Does it write a contract for me?

No. ServiceAgreement.us is a record of what you agreed and what was asked for after. It does not write, read or judge contracts, and it is not legal advice. If a dispute turns legal, talk to a lawyer where you work.

Does my client see it?

Only what you choose to show them. The Change Summary and change-order sheets are pages you print or save as PDF and send yourself. The site sends no email to anyone.

Who is it for?

Anyone who does work for clients at an agreed price: web and design freelancers, IT help, cleaners, landscapers, tutors, photographers, contractors and trades.

Where is my data?

On this site's own server, under a random private link only you hold. No name, email or card is asked for. See Privacy.
