Privacy

What we store

• Your Ledger: the jobs, scope lines and requests you type, stored on this site's server under a random key. We keep only a one-way fingerprint of the key, never the key itself.
• A cookie that keeps your Ledger open in this browser (HttpOnly, secure), and a security cookie for forms.
• Rate counters: a salted one-way hash of your network address with daily counts, deleted after 5 days.

No name, email address, phone number or card is asked for. The Sorter page stores nothing.

What we do not do

No advertising or tracking cookies, no analytics services, no selling or sharing of data. Fonts and the site’s own scripts come from this site; the one outside script is the banner ad described under Advertising, which also counts one page view per page as a daily total. The site sends no email.

Advertising

The home page, the sample job, the Sorter’s blank form, How it works and Pricing each show one banner ad below the page, from AdEngine (adengine.us), the small ad network run by WeldonPC, the company behind this site. For now the ads are for WeldonPC’s own services. Your Ledger, the Sorter’s answers, this page and the terms show no ad.

To show an ad, your browser loads a script from adengine.us, asks it for one banner, loads the banner image, and reports once that the page was viewed and once that the banner was shown. Like any website, adengine.us receives your network address, your browser type and the address of this site with those requests; never the page’s own address or anything you typed.

• No cookies, no profile. AdEngine sets no cookies, gives you no ID and does not track you from site to site.
• How your network address is used. adengine.us looks up the approximate city for your address in a location database kept on its own server (nothing is sent to anyone else), so that ads meant for one area are shown only there. It also uses the address to count each ad view or click only once and to leave out robots and WeldonPC’s own office traffic. The address is not stored with the counts; the temporary entries made from it expire within six hours and are cleared from the server within two days.
• What is kept. Daily totals only: page views for this site, and views and clicks for each ad. The adengine.us web server also keeps a standard access log (network address, time, page requested, referring site, browser) for security; it is deleted on a rolling schedule.
• Clicking an ad passes through adengine.us, which counts the click, and then opens the advertiser’s site, which has its own privacy policy.
• Nothing about you is sold or shared.

Logs and backups

The web server keeps standard access logs for security. Database backups on this site's server are deleted once they are 14 days old. Each time the site software is updated, a copy of the database is also kept off-server on WeldonPC's own backup storage; those copies are deleted at the first update after they turn 14 days old, so if the site goes a while without an update, one can be kept longer than 14 days.

Deleting

Remove a request or a job at any time, or delete the whole Ledger from its page; deletion is immediate. Backups on the server age out within 14 days; off-server copies as described above.
